Urgency of Energy Transition
Practically all countries of the world are signatories to the Paris Agreement. They pledge to become carbon neutral by 2050 or soon afterwards, so as to reduce the global atmospheric temperature rise to less than two degree centigrade above pre-industrial times. This means most countries need to peak their carbon dioxide emission by 2030 and reduce it to near zero by 2050 or soon afterwards. Each year we implementing decarbonization will only make the task for difficult and costly in future. This is true for both businesses and nation.
